The Ridge Retreat and Adventure Center is located outside Walcott, Ark., and is owned and operated by Children's Homes, Inc. It has become a year-round treat facility that hosts numerous groups throughout the year. For many years, it was known to people as Crowley's Ridge Youth Camp and was focused on summer camp sessions for children and teenagers. As the facility grew and added more opportunities, it was necessary to change the name to reflect the year-round offers of the center.
The facility offers large cabins with bathrooms facilities. The cabins also have central heat and air conditioning. There is a large swimming pool on the property complete with water slides, bathrooms and a covered picnic area. The facility also boasts a multi-element ropes course. The current main building offers a stocked kitchen and dining area. A larger main building is currently under construction at the facility.
Adjacent to the retreat center is the William and Vacle Olive Ranch, which is also owned by Children's Homes, Inc. The retreat center utilizes this property through various activities, including the area's first foot golf course.
The retreat center can be rented for a variety of uses, including family reunions, birthday parties, retreats, school field trips, team-building sessions and a host of other uses.
